Property Photo Shoot Preparation Suggestions


 

Exterior of Home:

·         Remove all vehicles from driveways and try not to park directly in front of the house

·         Mow the lawn and landscape as needed, pull weeds, trim hedges. Coil up hoses, remove and trash, animal droppings, etc

·         Conceal all trash containers

·         Make sure any outdoor seating area is clean and looks inviting.

·         If there is a pool, make sure it and the area is clean. If you have temporary child fencing, take it down for the photo shoot

·         Turn on any pumps for water features, spillways, etc

Interior of Home (ALL rooms):

·         Open window curtains and blinds and let natural light in and neighborhood views

·         Remove any furniture that obstructs windows

·         Clean windows

·         Remove pet bowls, toys and litter boxes from rooms that will be photographed

·         Put away newspapers and magazines

·         Make sure all light bulbs work and have matching color temperature in the same room

·         Dust all furniture, TV and computer screens

·         Vacuum carpets, and wipe down hardwood floors

·         Hide electrical cords and cables

·         Hide remote controls and phone chargers

·         Depersonalize and remove family photos

·         Turn all ceiling fans off

·         Turn interior lights on

·         Add flower arrangements/candles where appropriate

·         De-clutter your home

Kitchen:

·         Remove any items that may be taped of otherwise fastened to the refrigerator

·         Remove anything from the sinks

·         Remove all you can from the countertops (bread, dishes, food, hand towels, etc.)

·         Sweep and mop the kitchen floor

Dining room/Eating Areas:

·         Set tables with simple place settings

·         Add centerpieces (flowers or candles)

·         Move excess chairs to another location that won’t be photographed

 

Bedrooms:

·         Make all beds and tidy up bedrooms

·         Hide all clothes, hang them up nicely in closets or stuff them under your bed

·         Remove clutter from nightstands and dressers

·         Stash any and all children’s toys

Bathrooms:

·         Remove all you can from countertops (toothpaste, combs, soap, toiletries, etc.)

·         Clean mirrors, glass and all surfaces well

·         Remove bottles and used soap from showers and tubs

·         Remove wastebaskets, toilet brushes and plungers

·         Full roll of toilet paper

·         Toilet seats down

·         Have one fresh hand towel on the towel rail

 

The garage may be your ideal place to stash your extra stuff out of the way for the photo shoot.  Unless the garage is one of the main features of the home, the external photos will show enough information.
